Holmbury Hill 28th January 2014

The excuses were coming in thick and fast, some more valid than others. Greg's skiing injury being the most valid and probably the most frustrating as he was clearly itching to get out. Others ranged from installing the loft, through I haven't been out since before Christmas and need to get fitter before I ride, to the classic not bought lights yet excuse.

I was saved from either riding alone (not ideal in the dark), or going home to the rowing machine (dull, dull, dull), by Richard. Thanks Richard.

The torrential rain turned into steady, but relatively gentle rain, but obviously the ground was utterly soaked. We started by heading up to the view point, then onto Yogurt Pots. I then managed to misplace Telegraph Row, I blame my badly rain splashed and fogged up glasses. We followed some locals and picked it up part way through the trail.

A climb back up to the reservoir and it was on to Barry knows best. This survived the rain unscathed and left us buzzing after the great switchback decent.

Another climb took us back to the car via a mix of trails. Only about an hour and twenty minutes, but a good ride all the same.

The video is a little on the dark side as it really needs a few people to increase the light output, but I have edited it and added it anyway.
